FRUTOESTE - Cooperativa Agrícola de Hortofruticultores do Oeste, CRL, was founded in 1977 by 19 associates. It acquired its first packinghouse in 1988 with a total area of 17,000 sq meters and a cold storage capacity of 8,000 tons.

Today, FRUTOESTE has about 170 associated farmers producing mainly Rocha pears with Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), Mafra lemon labels and apples.

FRUTOESTE is recognized by the Portuguese Ministry of Agriculture for using Integrated Protection practice for pears, apples, stone fruit, citrus and table grapes and for the practice of Integrated Production in pears and apples.

Our fruit is sold in supermarkets in Portugal and abroad, namely the UK, France, Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, Brazil and East Europe countries.
