Frutoeste

Rocha is a variety of Portuguese pear
native to the west coast of the country, specifically the Sintra area.

Granular and sweet pulp
Rocha pears can be eaten at different stages of ripeness for a soft-melting or more crunchy experience. Our pear orchards are near the sea, where the wind and the sunshine produce consistently sweet fruits.

Rocha pears
Russeting is always present in Rocha pears, its proportion and concentration depending on the weather conditions. The sugar content accumulates around to the “freckles” on the pear’s skin.

“Pêra Rocha do Oeste” (DOP)
The European Union has recognized Rocha pears as a traditional quality product, granting them a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) label.
