Mafra lemons are fresh and with an intense aroma because at Frutoeste we don’t use any degreening or other postharvest treatment. Their wrinkled skin is a consequence of the wind that blows through our orchards from the nearby Atlantic.

Economic engine
In the 1980s and 1990s, Mafra lemons provided the main economic engine for the inhabitants of several villages in the region, including sobreiro, Achada, Arrebenta, Paúl, Casal da Serra, Brejo and Fonte Santa. The lemons are prized for everyday and industrial uses.
