FRUTOESTE - Cooperativa Agrícola de Hortofruticultores do Oeste, CRL, was created in 1977 with 19 associates, but it was only in 1988 that it started its activity with the construction of the fruit plant, having a covered area of 17,000 m2 and a of 8,000 tons.

Today, FRUTOESTE has around 170 members who essentially produce Rocha Pear (Protected Designation of Origin) and Mafra Lemon, in addition to Apples.

FRUTOESTE is recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture for the practice of Integrated Protection in pome fruit, stone fruit, citrus and vines and Integrated Production of pome fruit.

The preferred markets for the commercialization of Frutoeste's fruit are supermarkets in Portugal and exports to England, France, Canada, Italy, Holland, Brazil and Eastern countries.
